When we go on adventures or just down the street to the park, it’s always nice to have someone go with you. That’s probably why we have dogs. Our constant travel companion who follows us wherever we go and brings endless laughs along the way.
Our dogs are one of our best friends and they deserve the best, which is why I wanted to help tell the story of Kong Dog Toys. Before I had to give my dog, Sammy Tutu, away a few years ago (I lived alone and was never home to give him the attention he deserved and needed) Kong Dog Toys were the only thing that would last longer than a week in my house. Shoes, underwear, tables, bark collars, all chewed to pieces but somehow Kong toys stuck around.
I asked my beautiful friend Kaitie and her dog Clementine to join me at the soccer fields just down the street from my house, to play with some Kong toys and have some laughs. And boy did we laugh a lot. It was a short window to shoot since we both had crazy schedules. We could only meet in the evening and the sun was going to set soon. But the lighting ended up being beautiful and Clementine was just happy to get to play with a Kong, especially when it was filled with their spray cheese.
I wanted to portray both sides of the human-canine relationship by showcasing the fun an owner and their dog can have together while emphasizing the joy our pets have with these Kong toys. Throughout the images, you can see the relationship between Kaitie and Clementine and how much they love each other. Their silliness and adventurous nature are just the beginning of their relationship, and these photos can’t even begin to tell that full story. But the story they do tell still seems to touch your heart and make you want to go out and play with your pup.
