I’ve had a love affair with fashion since I was a kid. When I was in high school I was sure I’d end up in fashion school in college, with my own line by thirty. Things never actually happen how you want them to but I love the base that it created for me and the outlet of another creative endeavor. When I was in college I started a fashion and lifestyle blog, it was terrible. I don’t remember the original name I gave for it but it turned into “Born 2 Dazzle” which I ran for three or four years after that. There was a lot of flaws with these blogs but the intent was always the same, to use creation for something.
I’ve come to look at fashion a lot differently than I did when I first created these blogs. For one, I don’t feel the need to fill as many closets as possible with so many options it becomes impossible to choose. We’ve all had those mornings where we think we have nothing to wear with a house full of clothes. In recent years I’ve embraced minimalism and try hard to purchase fair trade fashion, not falling to the trend of fast fashion (the super cheap clothes made to last a month or two and usually made in sweatshops.) What I’ve come to learn is that fashion is a great way to be creative, to express your self and to feel like a badass, but it doesn’t have to cost a ton and it doesn’t have to take up all the space in your home. I’ve decided to add back some fashion posts to my blog not to show off how cute my outfit is (although that might be a small piece of it) but to reveal how you can have a small closet, with plenty of options and buy products that benefit everyone. Most of the things I wear you won’t be able to find in a store. This won’t be your
Most of the things I wear you won’t be able to find in a store. This won’t be your average fashion post. I won’t be linking to the brands I buy from or the sales I hit because the truth is a lost of my clothes are from consignment stores and thrift stores. However, when I can share links to similar items at stores that are kind to the world I’ll be sure to share it or every now and then I might even direct you to the exact product. My goal with this blog and with everything I do is to inspire creativity, compassion and help you live an adventurous life. Use these Colorado Style posts as a way to get an idea of how to wear your own wardrobe, accessorize a look or figure out what to bring when you travel to the mountains.
